I was looking forward to this book but unfortunately some of the information is incorrect. The GPS coordinates given on more than one hike are way off. The one given for St Clair Mountain (N35 55.169' / W111 43.478'), which is located east of Cave Creek, just north of Phoenix, lands you somewhere east of the Grand Canyon. Fortunately, there are written directions as well, which I assume (or rather hope) are correct.I have the Kindle version, by the way. I found the history part of this book fascinating. I have also used the book to actually locate about a dozen ruins and rock art sites in the wild. The directions to each site were accurate and easy to follow. Keep in mind, though, that while many of the sites would be easy for anyone to find, others are truly located OFF the beaten path. That means off established trails, so you may have trouble if you have no route-finding skills, do not know how to read a USGS 7.5 minute topographical map, and do not know how to program points of latitude/longitude into a hand-held GPS. I highly suspect those who complain about the book's directions simply don't know how to navigate through the wilderness, even with the best-written field guide. Also, make sure you get the SECOND edition of this book, which has much more updated information on roads, trails and routes.
